2 DAY FIRST AID AT WORK RE-QUALIFCATION COURSE (HSE APPROVED)
DURATION: 2 Days – 0900 -1700 hrs.
DELEGATE GROUP: Open to delegates with a valid first aid certificate
PRE ATTENDANCE REQUIREMENTS:
Must hold valid (HSE approved) first aid certification that complies with the Health & Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981 for the qualification of workplace first aiders. (evidence will be required)
NOTE: Certificates that have expired for more than 28 days from the course start date must attend the full 3 Day First Aid at Work course.
AIM:
To refresh existing skills and be aware of new or changes to first aid at work practices and protocols.
OBJECTIVES:
Delegates will be able to demonstrate maintenance of competence in all aspects of First Aid at Work through a blend of theoretical and practical training and a formal assessment process.
COURSE CONTENT:
Delegates will receive refresher training in a range of first aid competencies. The list below is by no means exhaustive but outlines the main aspects of the course.
- Aims and principles of First Aid
- Using a first aid kit
- Basic life support
- Management of the unconscious casualty
- Dealing with shock
- Bleeding and wounds (common workplace injuries)
- Fractures, dislocations and soft tissue injuries
- Dealing with common major and minor illnesses
- Prevention of cross-infection during first aid procedures
- Burns
- Legal aspects of First Aid at Work – record keeping and use of equipment
- Assessment (Certification will be 2 Day Re-qualification First Aid at Work (HSE approved)
COURSE FEES: Available on request. Price includes course materials, certification and lunch. Accommodation may be available at the Centre on request. Where suitable facilities are available the above training can be delivered at the client’s location.
